Internships available at the Bowers children’s museum, Kidseum:

22 Oct
 If interested, email Jennifer directly!
We invite promising young professionals to join the Museum Education Internship Program to assist with Kidseum’s after school program. The program serves children grades k-8, with a heavy focus on the arts. Children receive one hour of homework assistance, art lessons, docent lead tours at the Bowers Museum, and guest professional artists visit to share their skills. Interns will gain in-depth fieldwork experience by designing, facilitating, and teaching programs that address the needs of Santa Ana youths. Interns have the opportunity to develop and lead lessons. In addition, Kidseum recently acquired smart boards that interns and staff will utilize in lessons.
This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing degrees in art, arts education, teaching credentials, community service, and child development. Anthropology students will also benefit from the internship due to the access they will have to the Bowers Museum’s exhibitions. Students who would like to learn more about working in museum education and students with career goals of working for education non-profits and as teachers will benefit from this opportunity. I believe that I have been successful in my career based on the abundance of internships I did while I was in school.
Please share this opportunity with your students. They can email me directly with any questions they may have.
Thank you,
Jennifer Alvarado
